ABB OF Fuse Links for Low Voltage Short Circuit Protection

To prevent danger, and damage to low voltage electrical equipment and circuits, short circuit currents need to be interrupted extremely quickly.

The quick temperature rise generated by the short circuit current causes equipment to breakdown.

ABB OF fuse links are designed to react to temperature rise and their current limiting capability is very good.

Fuse links contain granulated quartz which binds the temperature generated by the arc in the short circuit. At the same time the pressure rises inside the ABB low voltage fuse link and the fusing element ruptures.
