LV4 – Polymeric Services to PILCSTA Cable Jointing Course

Duration: Two days

Venue: Sterling Power Training, Halesowen

Membership: This cable jointing training course is designed as a continuation course following an LV1 (Introduction to LV Cable Jointing - Single & Three Phase Services) or for existing experienced cable jointer that has undertaken, or is in the process of undertaking, a suitable electrical qualification i.e. C&G 2322.

It is recommended that trainee cable jointers should have at least a basic understanding of numeracy and literacy to successfully complete the course.

Maximum number of delegates: Seven trainee jointers per course

Training Course Objectives: By the end of the jointer training course you should be able to:

  • Understand and demonstrate personal safety including the basics of on-site safety requirements including use of hand tools
  • Demonstrate cable stripping and preparation of PILCSTA cables
  • Demonstrate they can complete a single phase service on to three phase PILCSTA mains

Jointer Training Course Outline

The following course content will be covered two days of theory and practical training.

Day 1

  • Personal safety including the basics of on-site safety requirements and hand tools.
  • Introduction to cable preparation and stripping of PILCSTA cables
  • Carry out single phase service joint to PILCSTA including jointing instructions and procedures

Day 2

  • Continue with single phase PILCSTA service cable joint
  • Course assessments and review
