Thorne & Derrick supplied The Caledonian Cheese Company based at Stranraer in south-west Scotland with Craig & Derricott Isolators which are IP65 rated for food processing area installations.

T&D specified and supplied 8off Craig & Derricott SDG00633N switch disconnectors, 63A, 3P + Switched Neutral on an overnight basis direct to site.

The IP65 sheet steel enclosures form just a small wedge of the Craig & Derricott i-switch range of switch disconnectors for low voltage isolation.

Switch Disconnectors provide the means to safely disconnect and isolate an item of low voltage electrical equipment from the supply.

Craig & Derricott isolators primarily designed to provide a means of local isolation when an electrical item may need maintenance or repair, a Switch Disconnector has to comply with the following minimum requirements:

• Provide effective clearance between the supply and the load
• Provide means of locking in the 'Off' position (Padlocking)
• Provide true indication of the contact state
• Provide safe disconnection from the supply even under fault conditions
