T&D working with SPS have had a proposed Heat Shrink Cable Jointing Kit specification and solution accepted by Nexens Petroleum for the cable splicing and jointing of UL Marine E83358 power and control cables on a forthcoming project. 

Nexen develops energy resources in some of the world’s most significant basins including the UK North Sea, offshore West Africa, the United States and Western Canada.

Nexen required heat shrink cable jointing kit for the following cables:

  600 Volt UL Marine Shipboard E83358

SPS heat shrink cable joints are suitable for all LV single and multi-core power cables including XLPE (SWA) steel wire armoured, EPR (GSWB) steel wire braided and PILC, 600/1000 volts to 3.3kV.
