Cable Pulling & Cable Laying
T&D supply cable pulling and cable laying equipment to enable the installation of High Voltage 400kV cables to the National Grid and the Electricity Alliances.
Working with Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions, T&D have supplied Cable Socks & Pulling Equipment to enable the support and pulling of high voltage 400kV single core 2500sqmm cables.
The double-eyed cable socks are ideal for medium to heavy cable pulls - the main advantage over single eye cable socks is, since the cable being pulled can be passed through the sock, several cables can be used to support over a calculated distance.

What is the Electricity Alliance?
The Electricity Alliance is a partnership between National Grid and 15 construction companies formed to deliver a major investment programme to update and develop the high-voltage transmission network in order to maintain safe, secure and reliable electricity supplies across England and Wales.
What does the Electricity Alliance do?
The Electricity Alliance carries out construction works to connect new electricity generation, such as wind farms and power stations, to the National Grid network.
It also enhances and replaces existing National Grid assets, including substations, overhead lines and underground cables, to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the high-voltage electricity network.
