132kV Cable Preparation Tools

 

Using the correct jointers tools to prepare subsea cables before cable jointing and terminating reduces catastrophic cable failures. T&D working with the Cable Engineering Manager at Prysmian Powerlink Services have provided sets of cable stripping, preparation and jointing tools to enable the termination of 132kV marine and subsea cables.

The cable jointing tools are being used for preparing 132kV Export Cable works at Gwynt y Mor Windfarm.

T&D stock 132kV cable preparation tools to enable the removal of bonded semi-conductor screening, lead alloy sheaths, fibre optic cable cores, XLPE insulation, galvanised steel wire armours and PE cable oversheaths.

T&D also supply Hemi Heating AB Cable Heating Blankets for straightening high voltage HV cables prior to cable jointing.  

Hemi Heating manufactures heating jackets for a safe and homogeneous heating up to 400°C as standard temperature. The Hemi Heating jackets minimizes downtime and allows quick access to components that needs service.
