T&D complete NEW shipment of wiping glands to ABB Australia.

Working with design engineers at ABB state-of-the-art production facility in Perth, Western Australia, T&D Exports helped specify the brass wiping glands (to BS2562) for use on ABB distribution tranformers destined for Western Power in the UK. 

Brass wiping cones or wiping glands are earth glands for plumbing lead sheath cables - designed to mechanically earth the lead sheaths of PILC cables the brass wiping gland kit includes : brass cone, bolt pack, heatshrink sleeve and jubilee clips for cable armour clamping.

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has been awarded a contract for the supply and service of distribution transformers by Western Power. The five year period contract will see ABB's local and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Perth, continue to produce and service distribution transformers for installation across a vast and growing power network, located in the south-west of Western Australia.
The contract scope includes the design, engineering, supply and service of 10kVA to 1000kVA up to 33kV rated distribution transformers.

ABB Australia's purpose-built transformer manufacturing facility located in the Perth metropolitan area of Malaga will design and produce approximately ninety percent of the transformers. With factories in ABB's regional network in Singapore, Hefei and Hanoi to provide manufacturing capacity support should the Malaga facility be unable to satisfy local volume-demand requirements.

"ABB's transformers will help strengthen the reliability of the electricity network and support the company as it strives to satisfy the growing demand for electricity in Western Australia."
