Glands Are Going Down Under

T&D have supplied ABB Austrailia Pty with 2,700off High Voltage Cable Glands for incorporation into ABB 33kV rated distribution transformers - the brass wiping glands are used to facilitate the termination of high voltage power cables into the 33kV transformers. T&D are Approved Global Vendors to ABB.

T&D distribute the most extensive range of cable glands, cable joints, cable cleats, cable terminations and cable joints to support the installation of LV and HV power cables.

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has been awarded a contract for the supply and service of distribution transformers by Western Power. The five year period contract will see ABB's local and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Perth, continue to produce and service distribution transformers for installation across a vast and growing power network, located in the south-west of Western Australia.
The contract scope includes the design, engineering, supply and service of 10kVA to 1000kVA up to 33kV rated distribution transformers.

ABB Australia's purpose-built transformer manufacturing facility located in the Perth metropolitan area of Malaga will design and produce approximately ninety percent of the transformers. With factories in ABB's regional network in Singapore, Hefei and Hanoi to provide manufacturing capacity support should the Malaga facility be unable to satisfy local volume-demand requirements.

"ABB's transformers will help strengthen the reliability of the electricity network and support the company as it strives to satisfy the growing demand for electricity in Western Australia."
