CSD Sealing Systems are the UK market leaders in the supply of cable and pipe sealing systems for the marine and offshore industry, having extensive experience and knowledge of supplying offshore engineers with specialist sealing solutions for almost 20 years. CSD Sealing Systems experience of working in hazardous area industries and the performance of CSD products in arduous environments helped CSD win the work from Harland and Wolff, on one of the largest offshore windfarm's in the world, at Gywnt y Mor.

Managing Director of CSD UK, David Ripley said, "We understand that building offshore environments require the highest levels of safety and deliver solutions that are safe, cost effective and flexible. This is a very exciting project for CSD and we are delighted to be involved with the expansion of renewable energy sources, including offshore wind, around the UK."

CSD has enjoyed a close working partnership with Harland and Wolff since the start of the project and have now not only been contracted to supply their full range of products, to ensure fire, water and gastight sealing protection for all cable transits and pipe penetrations throughout the operating life of the substations. But in addition they have been asked by the M&E contractors, Blackbourne M&E to install over 100 penetrations on each substation.

The team of highly skilled installers worked across the 2 offshore substations, ensuring the tight project schedule was completed on time. Blackbourne, Harland and Wolff and ultimate clients Siemens & RWE are very happy with the quality of installation.

CSD were glad to additionally support Harland and Wolff in this prestigious project by skill sharing and working with the customer as an integrated partner. CSD have been able to implement standards of installation across the board, resulting in a successful deliverance of a challenging project.
