Low Fire Hazard (LFH) conduit systems are becoming an increasing part of the specification in many cabling applications.

Public buildings, retail outlets, high rise office blocks, hospitals and transport installations including rail and mass transit systems.

Low Fire Hazard flexible conduit systems are require to protect personnel and property in the event of a fire and may be demanded by specifiers, occupiers, fire services and insurers.

Flexicon Flexible Conduits For Low Fire Hazard (LFH) properties:

  • Highly flame retardant to prevent a fire or limit its development
  • Low smoke emission in the event of a fire to enable safe evacuation
  • Low toxicity in event of a fire to prevent public exposure to toxic gases
  • Halogen free gives an indication of low smoke and low toxicity and rules out halogen acid gas emission - acid gas emission can destroy computer equipment and building structures. Halogens are flourine, chlorine, bromine and iodine.

All four properties: Highly Flame Retardant, Low Smoke, Low Toxicity, Halogen Free, must be present to claim LFH as halogen free does not assure low smoke and low toxicity.

A low smoke and fume product may not be self-extinguishing let alone highly flame retardant.
