Heat Shrink Cable Joints 11kV 3 Core XLPE Cables - Video Demo

SPS SPAJ Heat Shrink Cable Joints are suitable for cable jointing 6.6kV (7.2kV) to 11kV (12kV) high voltage power cables. This type of heat shrink cable joint is suitable for use with polymeric insulated cables - this includes both 3 core XLPE (BS6622) and EPR (BS6883) cables.

This new Video demonstrates the practical steps involved from initial 11kV cable preparation including outer sheath stripping using Alroc pliers, semi-con screen removal and XLPE insulation stripping using correct cable jointers tools.

The commentary guides the viewer through earthing copper tape screens, fitting under armour support rings, installing stress control heat shrink tubes, installing armour cage and finally positioning and shrinking the outer shrink tube to provide overall protection to the cable joint.

These 11kV heat shrink cable joints are designedHeat Shrink 11kV Cable Joints 3 Core XLPE for use with Cembre HV compression ferrules or Pfisterer Sicon HV mechanical shearbolt connectors and are suitable for underground (direct burial), outdoor UV exposed and cable tray installations.

Heat shrink cable joints are also available for 3 Core 6.6kV-11kV (12kV) PILC cables, transition and trifurcating versions up to 19/33kV (36kV).
