ProGARM GO/RT 3279 Railway Standard Garments on Crossrail London Underground Project

Tunnelling contractors working on London's new Crossrail construction project required flame resistant garments with reflective tape but in some areas were not requiring the fabric to meet the requirements of EN471 Hi-Vizibility or GO/RT 3279 Railway Standard. Areas where protection was needed included welders and electric switchgear operators. Here’s what the client says...

“Regarding the PPE you let us trial, overall there has been a positiveHigh Visibility Orange Protective Clothing GORT 3279 response. The fabric has been comfortable to wear - more so than the normal PPE, with the operatives reporting that it is easy to move about in. The operatives who had the overalls reported that the garments were comfy, and not as heavy as the normal flame proof overalls they have previously had. The only complaint is that they are very warm in this hot weather, but I think any PPE in the recent hot spell is uncomfortable and we are also working underground. Obviously the operatives appreciate the safety aspect, which is vital during our High Voltage switching operations”
