The largest undersea pipeline in the world, the Langeled Pipeline, provides 20 per cent of Britain's gas supplies. The project consisted of sealing 2500 ducts in just six weeks before completion.

The gas receiving station based on the East Yorkshire coast, needed the 2500 cable entry ducts sealed to prevent gas and water ingress, and as cables entered buildings to provide fire protection too.
CSD was approached by Amec to survey the site and contracted a six week window to complete the work. In order to do this CSD needed to supply a huge amount of material quickly and so the CSD factory and its RISE extrusion lines worked continuously for over one week. In addition CSD trained 18 of Amec's personnel to install the 2500 cable entry duct seals.
The material was supplied and the quick method of installation saw all 2500 ducts sealed well within the six week window, ensuring no delay on the Langeled project.
CSD RISE seaing system is a simple and highly effective multi-cable transit system providing high levels of safety. This cable sealing system is designed to prevent any fire, gas or water passing through cable transits within bulkheads & decks.
CSD RISE cable transit system consists of two components - Fire resistant sleeves and FIWA or NORFINO sealant.
