T&D stock and distribute insulating gloves for low and high voltage electrical safety.

Catu insulating gloves provide high dielectric performance for LV-HV cable jointing, live-line, substation, overhead and underground cable installations - insulating gloves protect against electrical shock. The gloves must comply with the IEC 60903 and EN 60903 standards and be visibly inspected after inflation and before each use.

CATU Insulating Gloves

Catu Insulating Gloves provide electrical safety to electrical contractors working on behalf of the UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).

Class 0 and Class 1 gloves are approved by UKPN, Northern Powergrid and Scottish Power Energy Networks.

Class 00 Insulating Gloves 500V
Class 0 Insulating Gloves 1kV
Class 1 Insulating Gloves 7.5kV
Class 2 Insulating Gloves 17kV
Class 3 Insulating Gloves 26.5kV
Class 4 Insulating Gloves 36kV

For Classes 0 and 00: The tests for these consists of an air inflation test and a visual inspection when the glove is inflated.

For Classes 1, 2, 3, and 4: Gloves can only be used if they have been tested within the last six months.

There are two main types of insulating gloves - Latex and Composite. Latex gloves provide a high dielectric performance and MUST be used with leather glove covers for mechanical protection. Composite insulating gloves provide a superior mechanical protection against punctures and tears whilst also eliminating the need for overgloves.
