Arc Flash Protection Clothing Kits for Workers in Oil Industry

 

T&D have supplied Catu arc flash protective clothing into the “Up Stream” oil industry via a UK approved vendor to Tengizchevroil (TCO) in Kazakhstan. The Catu Arc Flash Protection Kits will provide effective protection to 20 workers at the oil industry site.

Tengizchevroil (TCO) is a Kazakhstan partnership that explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulfur. TCO pride themselves in conducting their operations in accordance with world–class safety and environmental standards. This £25K investment in Catu arc flash protection kits further consolidates TCO's reputation with respect to ensuring low and high voltage electrical safety.

The Tengiz field in Western Kazakhstan was discovered in 1979 and now is one of the world's deepest producing super giant fields. In April 1993, Tengizchevroil LLP was formed between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chevron Corporation. Current partners are: Chevron, 50 percent, KazMunaiGas, 20 percent; ExxonMobil, 25 percent and LukArco, 5 percent.

T&D are distributors for a broad range of Arc Flash Clothing, PPE and Protection Kits - including arc flash suits, arc flash hoods, arc flash helmets (face shields) and arc flash overalls. Arc flash can occur during live cable jointing, switching operations, racking in and out of switchgear, reclosing of electrical switchgear onto a fault, switchgear failure, excavating near live cables or accidental contact with live conductors during maintenance.
