T&D are now the leading UK distributor of SEB Cable Pulling & Cable Laying Equipment including cable winches for LV-HV power and telecoms cables.
The SEB cable winch ranges includes the SEB FW3000 power cable winch (pictured) with the capacity to handle high cable pulling tensions and the SEB CW3000 telecoms cable winch for use with both low tension fibre cable pulling and heavier copper cables.
Whilst both the SEB FW3000 and SEB CW3000 have a 3 tonne line pull the cable winches operate in very different ways. The SEB FW3000 cable winch uses a steel rope and has a capstan and rewind drum, the rope is wrapped around the capstan manually but is automatically fed on to the rewind drum. The SEB CW3000 cable winch uses a soft rope and again the rope is wrapped manually round the capstan but is hand tailed off. Also the SEB CW3000 line speed is faster than the SEB FW3000 - refer and compare technical specifications as follows.
Power Cable Pulling Winch : SEB FW3000 3 Tonne Winch
Technical Specification
SEB FW3000 cable pulling winch with 3 tonne capacity is a single capstan winch and an asset to any multi-utility business. The cable winch is fitted with a free spooling payout system which makes it a "one man only" operation - the unit is fitted with a pull load indicator with read out via dial gauge.
Telecoms Cable Pulling Winch : SEB CW3000 3 Tonne Winch
Technical Specification
Safety Emergency Stop buttons and limit switch to the rear guard. The CW3000 cable winch is supplied as standard with the GRP Canopy.
SEB CW3000 cable winch is designed to pull telecommunication cable as well as general cable and sub duct. The winch operates the tried and trusted method of a single capstan drive system which is now synonymous with the telecommunications industry, the capstan is driven by a fixed displacement hydraulic motor.
The case alloy capstan is fully guarded and is fitted with a limit switch as standard which is activated and stops the capstan rotating as soon as the guard door is opened. Situated directly under the capstan is a swivelling diverter pulley to enable horizontal cable pulls to be made.
