Pictured: 11kV Tyco Coldshrink Triplex Cable Termination (WPD Specification) To G59 Bushings - the Tyco cable terminations are shown terminating the 11kV XLPE insulated cables with copper wire screens which are grounded/earthed to the gland plate cable box usually using brass type shearhead mechanical cable lugs.

The Tyco universal insulating bushing boot is flexible and disconnectable for straight or right-angled connection to the switchgear bushings - the cold-applied boots also permit routine and periodic testing.

G59 is the regulation covering the connection of any form of generator device to run 'in parallel' or 'synchronised' with the mains electrical utility grid (National Grid) in the UK.
