HV & EHV Circuit Breaker Testing With OMICRON's CIBANO 500 & CB MC2 Test Units

Testing high-voltage circuit breakers presents a different set of challenges, such as several interrupters per phase and long distances between drive cabinet and main contacts.

The combination of OMICRON CIBAN0 500 and the main contact modules OMICRON CB MC2 (pictured below right) allows all tests on a circuit breaker to be performed with one test setup. Once they're set up, these simple and clear test connections do not require any changes throughout all of the tests (static and dynamic contact resistance, timing, under-voltage condition and minimum pick-up, as well as coil/motor current analysis). Using the OMICRON CB TN3 accessory and a motion sensor, motion/contact travel tests can also be performed.
