Subsea Strapping Clamps

T&D have specified and supplied customised Band-It Inconel Strapping Clamps to VerdErg for retaining subsea diverless connectors which provide versatility in the connection of flowlines, umbilicals, catenary risers and free-standing riser towers.

Band-It Inconel 625 strapping was customised to suit 2250mm diameters providing high strength performance with excellent resistance to corrosion.

The VerdErg Retlock Connector has been deployed over 1,000 times offshore.

Originally developed for harsh environments West of Shetlands, its reliability, reversability and re-connectability are finding global applications in shallow water in lieu of divers and in deepwater to 2,500m.

Deep Water FPSO & Subsea Facilities, Installation, Hook-up and Commissioning in Schiehallion on the UK Atlantic Margin : The Schiehallion subsea facilities are comprised of a network of 29 subsea wells, 5 drill centres, 23 flowlines and umbilicals tied back to an FPSO, moored with 14 mooring legs secured by suction anchors in 400m water depths West of Shetland, UK.

Installation of the Schiehallion field infrastructure comprised risers, pipelines, umbilicals, manifolds, connecting jumpers and the FPSO installed during 1997-98 with first oil produced in July 1998.

The Schiehallion field set new standards for deepwater offshore petroleum field development in overcoming technical challenges, dealing with inhospitable environmental conditions and meeting schedule targets. OTC Paper Number 10903 Authors M Dick, P Sen and P Metcalf.
