Pfisterer Sicon Shearbolt Connectors & Heatshrink Cable Joints & Terminations

"The PVC plastic caps that are supplied with Pfisterer Sicon shearbolt cable connectors and cable lugs should not be used with heatshrink cable joints or terminations.

The reason for this is due to the PVC caps mis-shaping when exposed to heat from the jointers gas torch.

As they are only made from PVC, such mis-shaping under high temperature can cause the caps to become dislodged from the hole in the Sicon bolt, if the cap becomes dislodged before the heatshrink tube is fully recovered then this could obviously cause future issues to the cable joint.”
