Thermon BSX are self-regulating heating cables, designed to provide freeze protection or process temperature maintenance to metallic and nonmetallic piping, tanks and equipment. The BSX self-regulating cables are certified for use in ordinary (nonclassified) areas and in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the ATEX Directive and the IECEx Scheme. BSX heat tracing cable has an operating voltage of 230 VAC and maximum maintenance temperature of 65°C.

Part Number | Heat Output at 230V |
BSX 3-2 | 9 watts per metre at 10ºC |
BSX 5-2 | 15 watts per metre at 10ºC |
BSX 8-2 | 25 watts per metre at 10ºC |
BSX 10-2 | 32 watts per metre at 10ºC |
The scope of heat tracing work also included extensive thermal insulation repairs/upgrade, system control requirements and electrical power wiring. Thorne & Derrick received praise from the client for “excellent workmanship” and an “impressive commitment to H&S.”
Following on from initial heat tracing works completion, Thorne & Derrick are now back on site upgrading further pipe frost protection systems to other plant areas prior to winter 2013 and as part of the heat tracing contract, will carry out on-site pre-winter maintenance checks for the next 3 years.
