Fairless Cable Glands For Navy From CSD Sealing Systems

CSD Shipped For Further Success

CSD has shipped the first order of EMP Fairless Glands for the Royal Navy’s HMS Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) aircraft carriers. The cable glands are designed to provide a highly effective transit seal for any cables passing through a deck or bulkhead in EMP protected areas.

This is a significant step for CSD since the acquisition of Fairless Engineering in 2012, as this extends its addressable market and helps build a stronger reputation with its enhanced product portfolio.

CSD also celebrates extending the supply relationship with the prestigious aircraft carrier project. In addition to supplying EMP Fairless Glands, CSD have provided RISE Nofirno, SLIPSIL systems and installation teams to ensure the prevention of fire, gas and water through pipe penetrations throughout the construction phases.

The New CSD Fairless Gland has been designed as a joint venture between CSD Sealing Systems and the original naval Fairless Gland manufacturer with production and design input from BAE Systems in Portsmouth.

The CSD Fairless Glands are available as either : standard through bulkhead and deck penetrations or EMC/EMP versions for Grade A and Grade B EMC areas and external weather decks and bulkheads.
