Earthing & Lightning Protection
AN Wallis earth rods are designed for use where extremely high corrosion resistance and long service life are required.
AN Wallis copper earth rods provide effective earthing for all site conditions and are manufactured from 99.9% copper with excellent corrosion resistance and very high tensile strength.
Copper earth rods are produced from solid copper bar and are internally threaded for jointing. When deep driving a solid copper earth rod the usual practice is to insert the rod into a bore hole and backfill with either low resistance earthing compound or Bentonite. Earth rods take advantage of lower resistivity soils at greater depths than normal excavation will allow and are used in conjunction with earth plates they are used to attain an effective earth in shallow soils or in locations with large amounts of buried services eg high voltage switching positions.
AN Wallis copperbond earth rods offer installers the most economical method of achieving a low earth resistance. Each ERB012 earth rod has a high tensile strength, low carbon steel core. 99.95% pure copper is applied electrolytically and forms a metallurgical bond between the steel core and the copper. This combination makes the ERB012 earth rod ideal for deep driving whilst also provides lasting resistance to corrosion. The threads of the earth rod are formed by a cold rolling process which ensures strength and maintains the molecularly bonded copper covering along the full length of the threads. The cold-rolled thread process makes the earth rod stronger than if used the cut-thread process. The standard copper thickness is 0.25mm but greater copper thicknesses is also available.
