OK, we KNOW this is a gimmick but to all those die-hard heat shrinkers out there we say "watch and perhaps even give it a try yourself next time....."

Cold Shrink Tubes from 3M
3M Cold Shrink tubes are open-ended, tubular rubber (EPDM) sleeves - 3M tubes are factory expanded and assembled onto a removable core and supplied for field installation in this pre-stretched condition. The 3M core is removed after the cold shrink tube has been positioned for installation over an inline connection, terminal lug or other similar applications, allowing the cold shrink tube to shrink and form a waterproof seal. 3M cold shrink tubes are cold applied and therefore quicker, easier and safer to install than heat shrink alternatives - 3M cold shrink is ideal where hot work permits are difficult to obtain and used extensively in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, including Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas
