T&D are an Approved Vendor to National Grid UK of Cembre Cable Crimping & Cutting Tools.

T&D have supplied several National Grid crews this week with Cembre tools for working on 400kV underground cabling projects - the tools will enable the cutting and crimping of power cables from 0.25sqm-400sqmm.

Cembre Ratchet Tools are used for crimping power and control cables using red, yellow and blue insulated terminals and connectors.

Cembre HP4 crimping tools are manual mechanical tools with a ratchet mechanism that prevents the handles from opening again before reaching the ratchet. Cembre HP4 ratchet crimping tools have a positioning device to reduce the operator’s effort and facilitate proper crimping of the conductor.

The Cembre HP4 tools have 3 different jaw adjustments for crimping:

1. Strong
2. Medium
3. Light

Cembre HP4 crimp tools are designed for easy use. At the end of the crimping the outer surface of the conductor is automatically stamped with the following crimping code: one point for red conductor sizes from 23 to 15 AWG.
