ABB Kabeldon Premoulded Cable Joints Type SOJ 12kV - 36kV

 

Thorne & Derrick have supplied 39off ABB Kabeldon SOT244-4 pre moulded cable terminations to terminate single and 3 core 11kV cables with copper tape screens to Bluewater Services Ltd. A further 6off ABB Kabeldon SOJ124-3 pre moulded cable joints have been supplied to joint 11kV cables.  

ABB Kabeldon SOJ High Voltage Cable Joints

The body of the ABB cable joint is made from three layers of rubber - a conducting outer layer, insulating and conducting inner layers. The ABB SOJ joint body is pre-expanded on plastic inserts before installation. When the cables have been connected and the joint is centred, the inserts are pulled out. This way the joint body will provide active pressure on the cable insulation.
