1.0 EMTELLE PVC SPLIT DUCT :  TELECOMS DUCTING GENERAL

1.1 PVC split duct kit have been developed as a means of repairing telecoms ducting applications, which experience the majority of third party damage by other utilities due to the depth of burial of these systems.

1.2 The PVC split duct application area covered, within this document is telecommunications.

1.3 PVC split duct size ranges from 96.5mm to 110mm OD for telecoms ducting, with tongue and groove connection for split duct to ensure ease of installation and security of repair, following reinstatement of excavation post repair. 53.9mm PVC split duct and repair kits are available upon request, and Emtelle can fabricate split duct and repair kits for larger sizes and other applications, also upon request.

1.4 PVC split duct are supplied in polythene bags, and include an installation guide, these in turn are then packed in non-returnable woven polypropylene sacks, which are bio- degradable. PVC split duct is manufactured in 3m lengths which is cut to size on site to suit the telecoms ducting repair required.

1.5 The PVC split duct shall be printed or labelled according to customer requirements and traceable to Emtelle’s ISO 9000: 2000 quality system.

2.0 EMTELLE PVC SPLIT DUCT :  TELECOMS DUCTING RAW MATERIAL/ DESIGN / INSTALLATION

2.1 Split duct is manufactured from PVC. Each length is 3m and is split in 2 to create to half circles, which enables telecoms ducting to be repaired. Where the 2 half circles meet the wall of the duct has a tongue at one side and a groove at the other to ensure secure location of the 2 halves pre and post them being secured with Cable Straps

The combination of a split collar insert and up to 3 duct liners provides compatability for a range of duct bore diameters, dependant on the repair kit / PVC sdlit Duct sizes :

Attention should be paid to the PVC split duct split collar inserts, these are clearly marked SMALL and LARGE diameters respectively, on each spigot end (see diagram). Either spigot end will fit in to the split duct it is designed to be used with. NB – PVC split duct and repair kits should only be used together when the same size eg – 96,5mm PVC split duct with 96.5mm repair kits.

2.2 Colour is to standard colour range light grey, green, white. Dark grey and orange are also available to order but not generally held in stock
