Abtech SX45 hazardous area enclosures are ATEX Certified for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas - the terminal enclosures commonly used as junction boxes are manufactured from stainless steel and available in a full range of depths and sizes.

Abtech SX range of stainless steel enclosures and junction boxes were specifically designed to meet the rigors of the North Sea and are capable of achieving IP66, IP67 and IP68 ingress protection. SX hazardous area electrical enclosures have passed the Shell/ERA deluge test, devised to test enclosures and electrical equipment that is routinely subjected to ships decks conditions or fire deluge systems.

Abtech SX enclosures and junction boxes carry global hazardous area certifications - ATEX EEx'e' to BSEN50019 (Zone 1 & 2), EEX'nA' to BSEN50021 (Zone 2), NEMA 4X (CSA, UL & FM Class 1 Div 2) and GOST.

Fire Resistant Stainless Steel Enclosures & Junction Boxes

Abtech SX enclosures can be upgraded for fire resistance applications when fitted with ceramic terminals meeting the requirement of IEC331 (750 degrees Celsius for 3 hours) and BS6387/1983 (950 degrees Celsius for 3 hours).
