Mid-Span Tool for Primary Tap Wire

Ripley WS-MSES mid-span tool for primary tap wire is used when splicing, jointing and terminating both HV and LV overhead power, transmission and distribution cables.

Ripley WS-MSES is able to quickly and efficeintly remove polyethylene covering on primary voltage tap or riser wires. The design of the tool allows easy removal of a section of the cable jacket at mid span for the purpose of clamping to lightning arrestors.

The WS-MSES tool is specific to cable size and strips the cable without any conductor damage. The mid-span tool can easily be positioned on the cable with an unique spring loaded locking bolt which has a ring pull at the end serving as an attachment to a tool belt or pouch.
