Draw cord should not be used for cable installation. The Contractor shall use the draw crod to pull through a purpose made cable pulling rope which shall then be used for cable installation. The cable pulling rope shall be attached to the cable by means of a pulling eye fitted to a stocking (copper and power cable) or a pulling eye attached to the central strength member (fibre cable). The Contractor should attach a swivel between the cable pulling rope and the pulling eye - purpose made bellmouths should be fitted to the exit and entry of every cable duct.
Armoured Cables - Installation to Series 1500
Cable marker tape shall be laid approximately 250mm above all communications and power cables - where several cables are laid in one trench one line of cable marker tape shall be installed for each 600mm of trench width.
