Prysmian SF6 GIS Terminations - 72.5 to 525kV

Prysmian SF6 GIS Cable Terminations, designed for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) are cable terminations for polymeric cables are based on Pre-moulded Stress Cones and are currently available for HV polymeric cables from 72.5kV up to 525kV. Because of outstanding electrical and mechanical properties, ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) is the chosen material for the rubber mouldings. Each moulding is mechanically and electrically tested before leaving the factory.

Prysmian SF6 GIS Cable Terminations
are designed for direct connection to High Voltage and Extra High Voltage switching devices (e.g. circuit breakers) which use SF6 as an arc-quenching medium. Within the pre-moulded stress cones, the cable ends are encased in a specially designed epoxy resin insulator which is fastened within the GIS enclosure by a retaining flange.
