Prysmian Click-Fit Cable Joints - 72.5kV to 525kV

Prysmian Click-Fit Cable Joints, employ innovative plug-in cable ends designed to connect HV and EHV extruded power cables for 72.5kV up to 525kV. The high voltage cable ends are pre-prepared at the Prysmian factory and provided with cable plugs. The Prysmian plug can be tested electrically together with factory testing of the cable reel. By using a uniform plug design the installation of high voltage cable joints and cable terminations is as simple as plugging-in the prepared HV cable end.

Prysmian Click-Fit Cable Joints need protecting during the transportation and pulling in of the high voltage cable, the Prysmian Pre-prepared Plug has to be protected from mechanical damage and water ingress using the special Click-Fit Pulling Eye. Once on site the pulling eye is removed and the plug is inserted into the high voltage Prysmian cable joint where it automatically locks into the cable joint body by using spring driven bayonets.

Prysmian Click-Fit Cable Joints have been subjected to comprehensive tests according to IEC 60840, IEC 62067, NEN 3629 and IEEE 404 and pre-qualification tests according to IEC 62067.
