Prysmian Transition Cable Joints - 72.5 to 525kV
Prysmian Transition Cable Joints - 72.5 to 525kV
Prysmian Transition Cable Joints, for Polymeric Cables to Paper Insulated Cables are based on Pre-moulded One-piece Sleeves - available for HV polymeric cables from 72.5kV up to 525kV. Because of outstanding electrical and mechanical properties, ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) is the chosen material for the rubber mouldings. Each moulding is mechanically and electrically tested before leaving the factory.
Prysmian Single Core Transition Joints, are designed to use the dry design concept on the polymeric side, and crepe paper is used to complete the stress relief cone on the paper insulated side of the high voltage cable.
Prysmian Three Core Transition Joints, for use on 3 Core Paper Insulated Cables (PILC) to 3 x Single Core Polymeric Cables (XLPE). Premoulded sleeves, (One for each core) are used on the Polymeric side, and Crepe Paper is used on the Paper Insulated Side to provide stress control. The connection for copper conductors is via compression, where as for aluminium condutors it is welding.
T&D distribute an extensive range of Extra High Voltage Cable Terminations, Cable Plugs & Cable Connection Systems for high voltage polymeric (XLPE EPR) and paper (PILC) insulated cables - 3M Cold Shrink Terminations, Prysmian Heat Shrink Terminations, SPS Heat Shrink Terminations, Nexans Screened Separable Connectors and Pfisterer Inner Cone Plugs compatible with air and gas insulated switchgear and oil filled switchgear and transformers manufactured by ABB, Siemens, Eaton Alstom, Brush, Schneider and Hawker Siddley. High voltage electrical system designers and contractors should be attentive to the short circuit forces generated by high voltage power cables and select cable cleats to provide cable support and containment - Ellis Patents Cable Cleats provide reliable cable cleating of high voltage and extra high voltage cables, 11-33kV up to 400kV.
