Prysmian Premoulded Cable Joints - 72.5 to 525kV

Prysmian Premoulded Cable Joints are based on pre-moulded one-piece sleeves and are currently available for HV high voltage polymeric cables from 72.5kV up to 525kV. Because of outstanding electrical and mechanical properties, ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) is the chosen material for the rubber mouldings. Each moulding is mechanically and electrically tested before leaving the factory. Cable joints are available with and without a metallic casing.

Prysmian Premoulded Cable Joints - Compact version cable joint, using heat-shrinkable outer protection tubes. Ideally suitable for tunnels or manholes with limited dimensions, for lead or corrugated aluminium sheathed cables the heat-shrinkable outer protection is combined with a metallic protective sleeve to be plumbed to the cable sheath. The outer protection consists of a twin layer of heat shrinkable tubes that are applied on site over the cable joint guaranteeing a good seal against water penetration - cable joints are IEC 60840 and IEC 62067 compliant.

Prysmian Premoulded Cable Joints - Universal version cable joint, using a XLPE hard insulating box filled with cold pouring resin. Designed to provide a high degree of protection in different environments. Consisting of an XLPE hard coffin box to be assembled on site and filled with a cold pouring resin ; the sealing between the coffin and the cables is achieved by means of heatshrinkable sleeves, for lead or corrugated aluminium sheathed cables this type of outer protection is combined with a metallic protective sleeve to be plumbed to the cable sheath.
