The Elastimold Direct Test System (EDTS) may be just the step you are looking for to supplement your present isolate, test and ground methodology. Elastimold EDTS includes an insulated port on the high voltage separable connector providing a direct path to the conductor. The port, along with an Elastimold 200TC series meter adapter, provides a means for direct conductor voltage testing.

An insulated and shielded cap covers the port in normal operation. Once the circuit is de-energized and isolated by switching, the EDTS test can be used along with your normal procedures.

An example of the Elastimold EDTS could include the following steps:
* An approved Elastimold adapter is attached to the appropriate medium/high
   voltage direct test meter on an appropriate line stick.
* The cap is removed using a line-stick.
* The spring-loaded pin (to assure contact with the conductor) of the adapter is
   inserted into the port until the adapter is fully seated on the port.
* The direct test reading is made to assure the circuit is de-energized.

Additional tests, grounding, or other practices, as required by the local operating authority may then be performed.
