Polypipe Comtite cable protection plugs, when used in conjunction with the insertable cable grommets, ensures full compliance with the requirements of Series 1530 of the Highways Agency Specification for Highway Works and is the only transit system accredited by the BBA for motorways comms.

Comtite Seals & Duct Plugs  - Press Release Launch 2002

Comtite duct seal plugs are a complete duct transit system specifically designed for sealed motorway communication installations but suitable for other applications as well.

The Comtite duct plug seal is designed to fit Polypipe Civils 94 and 100mm Ridgiduct cable duct systems.

A comprehensive range of EDPM grommets ranging from 9mm to 27mm and a blanking grommet with rope attachment are also available, covering the full range of cables used in motorway communications market.

The duct plug, when in conjunction with this range of grommets, ensures a seal that complies with the requirements of Series 1500 of the Highways Agency Specification for Highway Works.

Comtite seals are manufactured in two parts, allowing rapid fitting for both new and retrofit street lighting and motorway cable duct installations.

The compression plates are secured by four nuts and bolts which, when tightened, ensure an air tight seal which will also resist ejection from the duct.

The units are also supplied with an integral central air test valve so all 4 bores pay their way.

This new duct seal fitting creates a one-stop shop for motorway communications applications, including ducting, spacers, draw cord and duct transit systems.
