PT Techlube Cable Pulling LubricantsTechlube Cable Pulling Lubricant for Low & High Voltage Cables

Techlube cable pulling lubricants are suitable for low and high voltage power cables and telecom cable pulling projects.

Techlube cable lubricant, also known as "cable lube", provides the following benefits to the cable pulling and cable jointing contractor:

Cable Lubricants - Socomore

  • Duct pre-lubrication to reduce friction and risk in difficult cable pulls
  • "String & Cling" consistency - perfect adhesion to all power cable jackets
  • Techlube retains duct lubrication to allow future cable pulls
  • Non flammable Techlube cable lubricant
  • Biodegradable and non toxic for environment

The full range of Techlube Cable Pulling Lubricant:

  • HD Techlube - heavy duty pulling lubricant for heavy cables and difficult pulls
  • Multi Techlube -  intermediate viscosity between PHD and HD
  • PHD Techlube - pourable lubricant for medium and lighter cable installations
  • M Techlube - telecoms industry cable lubricant
  • FO Techlube - fibre optic and sub-duct installation lubricant

High Voltage Cable Lubricants

Techlube is suitable for cable pulling underground power and telecomms cables into ducting maintaining duct lubrication for several months assisting future cable pulls into same duct.

Socomore Techlube cable lubricants are approved by ABB, Balfour Beatty, Bellcore, Corning, Doble Engineering, e-on, Central Networks, EDF UK, Elastimold, ESB, Nexans, Prysmian/Pirelli and Scottish Power.

Directions for Use

1. For plastic conduit (PVC, ABS, Polyethylene) use the following :

Q = 0.0064 x L x D

2. For multiple concrete, clay tile, fibre cement, fibre filled and wood conduit use the following:

Q = 0.0098 x L x D

Where Q = Amount of Techlube HD needed in litres

Where L = The total length of the pull in metres

Where D = The inside diameter of the individual conduit in centimetres.

Cable Sheath & Jacket Compatibility

Techlube cable lubricant does not contain any salt, detergent, paraffin or grease which can degrade cable jackets or cause hot spots.

Techlube has passed compatibility testing with materials used in power cable accessories, joints and cable jackets.

Techlube cable pulling lubricant is compatible with following LV-HV cables:

  • High Density Polyethylene
  • Linear Low Density Polyethylene
  • EPR Rubber
  • Hypalon
  • Cross Linked Polyethylene (XLPE)
  • Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC)
  • Neoprene - this includes low and high voltage 11-33kV power cables and utility Triplex cables.

Techlube Cable Lubricant - all Techlube cable lubricants for low and high voltage power or fibre optic cables share the same chemistry and main characteristics.

The “Cling & String” consistency ensures strong adhesion to the cable duct wall/cable and superior friction reduction during cable pulling. Techlube cable lubricant is non greasy.

Spillages can be flushed to drain with water but will not wash off cables easily, allowing Techlube to lubricate cables even when cable ducts are flooded with water.

Techlube dries slowly, leaving a thin film (less than 6% solids by weight remains after complete evaporation at room temperature) which is non-flammable and keeps its lubricating potential for several months.

Techlube cable pulling and cable blowing lubricants are suitable for pulling in low voltage cables (PILC, XLPE, waveform, EPR), high voltage cables (Triplex, 11kV, 22kV, 33kV, 66kV, 132kV, 275kV, 400kV), fibre optic, telecoms, control and instrumentation cables.

Socomore cable pulling lubricant should be used when installing LV-HV cables into cable duct to reduce friction and undue damage to the cable outer sheath or duct.  Also - Cable Sheath Repair Kits
