CTL Clearcast resin cable joint kits CS185, CS240 and CS300 are suitable for cable jointing of PVC, EPR, XLPE and PILC SWA multi-core power cables 185-300sqmm.

Resin cable joints are also suitable for cable jointing LV service cables (single and three phase concentric), mains cables (three phase waveform) and unarmoured cables in direct buried (underground), water immersed, cable ducted and containment (tray, ladder, basket) applications.

Cable joints include mechanical connectors for fast and simple cable jointing of copper or aluminium conductors.

Resin cable joints enable cross core cable jointing and can be installed using compression crimp splices.

Resin cable joints up to 1000 volts may be filled under load conditions.

• Cable Jointing 3.3kV Power Cables 

For cable jointing 3.3kV cables use self-amalgamating tape half lapped and stretched to 75% width over the crimp or mechanical connectors to increase the diameter by 8mm.

For 3.3kV cable jointing the joint kit should not be energised for at least 2 hours.

The completed cable joint should be left uncovered before back-filling for two hours to allow the cable jointing resin to fully set.

Two part cable jointing resin has a tensile strength of 45MPA and electrical strength of 20kV/mm.

Resin cable joints should be installed on de-energised ("dead") cables - contact T&D for live cable jointing kits.

For cable jointer safety, resin cable joints should not be installed in confined, unventilated areas and the LV cable jointer should avoid inhalation of vapours produced by resin cable joints during mixing and pouring.

 Resin Packs - spare resin packs are available where extra cable joint resin is required for topping-up cable joints after on-site resin spillage.

Resin pack sizes : CRO 180ml, CR1 350ml, CR2 825ml, CR4 1850ml and CR6 3000ml.

Specialist cable resins are available including flame retardant, hydro-carbon resistant, halogen-free LSF and re-enterable resins.
