FP Plus Fire Resistant Cable 

Prysmian FP PLUS Fire Resistant Cable is the 'enhanced' , hard skin, dressable fire resistant cable most commonly needed for fire alarm and emergency lighting circuits as defined by BS5839-1:2002 and BS5266-1:2011. The FP Plus cable is approved by third parties BASEC and LPCB in accordance with the requirements of BS5839-1:2002+A2:2008 Clause 26.2  and BS5266-1:2011 Clause 8.2.2b for enhanced fire resisting cables.Prysmian FP Fire Resistant Cables

The Prysmian FP PLUS fire resistant cable uses Insudite, unique to Prysmian, which provides a tough, damage resistant insulation that outperforms the commonly available soft-silicone fire resistant cables.

Prysmian FP Plus Fire Resistant Cable Specifications

General - Cables for fire detection and fire alarm critical signal paths in enhanced application areas, voice alarm systems and emergency lighting systems should be of screened construction and sufficiently robust to meet the intended installation condition.

Manufacturing Experience - Cables should meet the performance requirements of BS6387 Category CWZ, EN 50200 PH120, BS 8434-2 120 minutes, BS EN 60332-1-2, BS EN 50266-2-4, BS EN 61034-2 and produce less than 0.5% acidic gases when tested in accordance with BS EN 50267-2-1.The manufacturer shall have at least 10 years experience in the supply of fire resistant cables of similar construction.

Certification - The fire resistant properties of the cable shall be certified by a recognised approval body.

Sheath - The sheath shall be a robust mineral filled compound complying with BS7655 Type LTS3.

Screen - The screen shall consist of a longitudinally applied laminated aluminium tape securely bonded to the sheath. A full size uninsulated tinned copper circuit protective conductor shall be in contact with the screen.

Core Identification - Cores shall be identified by colours.

Insulation - The insulation shall be of a robust cross-linked mineral filled type complying with BS7655 type EI5.

Conductors - Conductors shall consist of plain annealed copper and the circuit protective conductor of tinned annealed copper.

Voltage rating - The cables shall be rated at 300/500V
