Rotary Switches

Rotary Switches

Rotary switches provide the most cost effective method of solving complex contact switching functions. However, every item of electrical equipment needs a method of disconnecting it safely from the supply - the rotary switch with positive break contacts performs electrical isolation effectively.

Craig & Derricott rotary switches are supplied in 6A, 16A, 20A & 40A ratings.

Rotary Switches - 6amp and 16amp
Craig & Derricott R6 & R16 rotary switches are built upon a common frame, the R16 rotary switch deriving its increased rating from larger contacts. These items lend themselves to the more common rotary switch functions such as 'general control' as well as 'Ammeter and Voltmeter' selectors. Due to their small size Craig & Derricott rotary switches are ideal for the specialist OEM.

Rotary Switches - 20amp
Craig & Derricott 20A 'Minirotary' rotary switch is one of the most versatile items in the rotary switch families. The 20A rotary switch design permits the addition of a wide range of electrical accessories. The rotary switch is well proven in arduous conditions being particularly favoured for Network Rail applications due to its ability to withstand the required 'shock & vibration' tests. Control panel manufacturers favour the Minirotary rotary switch for its rear facing terminals which can be useful in terminating in confined spaces.

Rotary Switches - 40amp
Craig & Derricott R40 rotary switch represents the ultimate in versatility. To this frame size we have added the facility of both 30 deg & 60 deg indexing. With excellent switching performance and a high level of mechanical strength, the R40 is the choice for isolation duties.

There are a vast array of configurations available to the end user within the rotary switch ranges and so to assist in selecting the correct item we offer opposite selections from our most popular switch arrangements. Each section contains a link to a datasheet which shows each item in greater detail and shows all of the switch accessories and options available.

Should you require a rotary switch designed to your own specification then you can either download our 'Custom Switch design template' on which you can show your requirements in detail, or call to talk to one of our experienced designers who will guide you through the design process.
