3M Scotch 130C Electrical Tape is a highly conformable, 0.762mm thick, linerless self amalgamating EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) based tape, high voltage insulating tape formulated to provide excellent thermal dissipation of splice heat.

3M Scotch 130C self bonding tape is designed for use in cable splicing and cable terminating LV-HV wires and cables.

3M Scotch 130C  Silicone Rubber Tape Installation

3M Scotch 130C Electrical Tape should be applied in successive half-lapped, level-wound layers until desired electrical insulation build-up is reached.

3M Scotch 130C  tape should be applied like any rubber tape : that is, the side of the tape wrapped inside the roll should be applied outside on the cable splice.

This will help prevent the roll from getting progressively further away from the work area. To eliminate voids in critical areas, highly elongate Scotch 130C tape.

Stretch Scotch 130C tape in these critical areas just short of the breaking point; doing so will not alter its physical or electrical properties.

In less critical areas, less elongation may be used. Normally, 3M Scotch 130C Tape is stretched ¾ of its original width in these critical areas. Always attempt to half-lap to produce a uniform build-up. 

When using Scotch 130C self amalgamating tape for splicing high voltage cables above 15 kV, always highly elongate the tape throughout the entire low or high voltage cable splice.
