Prysmian Nylon Hook Cleats - BICON

Prysmian Cables and Components have launched a new heavy-duty nylon hook cable cleat. The new hook cleat is part of the BICON range and offers a safe and effective means of supporting cable.

The new hook cleat is part of the BICON range and offers a safe and effective means of supporting cable, either directly to a wall, or in conjunction with cable tray, ladder or Unistrut. An important aspect of cable installation is to maximise the number of cable runs in a given space.


The heavy-duty hook cleats efficient design offers a unique cable diameter range take (25-80mm over 6 sizes), which minimises the space required for the cable cleat on the tray. In addition the cable cleats can be double stacked to further maximise this space.


Material strength is also a key consideration when choosing a cable cleat. After testing a variety of materials, Prysmian chose to manufacture the new cleat from glass-filled nylon, which offers a superior safe working load. Featuring a two-part design with a single bolt fixing, the cable cleats can be installed in a temporary open position.

Once the cable has been dressed correctly the cleat is closed and secured with a single bolt. Other characteristics of Prysmians new cable cleat include an operating temperature range of –20°C to +90°C and UV and weather resistance, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.
