Marechal DXN plug and socket outlets (decontactors) comply with ATEX hazardous area certification for use in explosive atmospheres including Zones 1 and 2 (gas) and Zones 21 and 22 (dust).

Marechal DXN ATEX certified hazardous area plugs and sockets are rated from 20-63amps, IP66/67 watertight ingress protection and with socket-outlet safety shutter providing IP4X protection.

DXN plugs and sockets comply with EN 50018 (explosion proof safety "d") EN 50019 (increased safety "e"), EN 50281-1-1 (electrical equipment for use in flammable dust atmospheres) and IEC 60309-1 (plugs and socket-outlets for industrial purposes) standards.

Marechal Electric pioneered the use of high performance, silver-nickel butt contacts in hazardous area electrical plug and socket systems (decontactors), which are now available for applications from simple compact multi-pin to heavy duty 600A plug connections.

Marechal technology is used across a range of demanding and hazardous area environments such as the food and drink, nuclear power, heavy industry, infrastructure and ATEX hazardous area sectors.

Marechal decontactors are an effective alternative to both hard-wired equipment and pin/sleeve type contacts, the decontactor is a highly flexible method of connecting and disconnecting electrical equipment at the press of a latch – safely.

Marechal Electric brought the decontactor, the high performance industrial plug connector with integral AC21 switch, to the electrical market.

With a unique quick-release mechanism, Marechal ATEX plugs and sockets provide fast and easy connection and disconnection, even under load, and guarantee operator safety by containing arc flashes with the plug.

The integral isolation switch eliminates the need for a qualified electrician to connect and disconnect equipment - the ATEX plugs and connectors combine compliance to the 94/9/CE safety standard, with watertight sealing to CEI 60529  (IP66/67) and corrosion-resistant contacts.
