Low Voltage Underground Link Boxes
Sicame & Prysmian Link Boxes
Underground low voltage electricity distribution is controlled by switching points called link boxes.
Increasing pressure on the DNO's to reduce customer interruptions means that underground link boxes are used within the distribution network to increase its flexiblity as different parts of the networks can be energised or de-energised. The underground link box has the facility to connect localised customers via a generator.
Benefits - Prysmian Universal Underground Link Box
*Cable can be jointed directly on to polymeric and paper insulated LV distribution cables, eliminatiing the need for intermediate lengths of polymeric cables and straight or transition cable joints.
*Suitable for cable jointing onto a live network.
*Uses universal LV mechanical connectors to suit local cable jointing procedures.
*A reduced footprint, which is a direct consequence of the underground link box and pit, means installation is easy under congested pavements.
