The Abtech SX range of hazardous area electrical enclosures includes 14 sizes manufactured in either 316 stainless steel or mild steel. Abtech SX hazardous area electrical enclosures and junction boxes are available in standard depths of 140, 200 or 300mm and can be fitted with removable gland plates.

The Abtech SX range of hazardous area enclosures was specifically designed to meet the rigors of the North Sea and is capable of achieving IP66, IP67 and IP68 standards. SX hazardous area electrical enclosures have passed the Shell/ERA deluge test, devised to test enclosures and electrical equipment that is routinely subjected to ships’ decks conditions or fire deluge systems.

IP68 junction boxes are available for depths up to 120 ft by special order.

The Abtech ZAG range of industrial electrical enclosures and junction boxes includes 19 sizes that are precision die cast in Al Si 12 grade (LM24) aluminum alloy. This is considered to be the most suitable grade of aluminum for maximum corrosion resistance of junction boxes especially in salt and corrosive atmospheres. Due to the ZAG electrical enclosure's labyrinth seal system (where the seal is protected from external forces), the ZAG industrial enclosure has excellent ingress protection qualities, which means that the junction box is tested to and passed IP66/67.

The Abtech ZAG range of industrial enclosures have many features for use in a wide range of electrical applications, including junction boxes in both industrial and hazardous areas and especially OEM applications, where the excellent machining qualities of aluminum are preferred. The ZAG range of industrial junction boxes and enclosures can be machined, drilled, tapped with various thread forms and readily accepts most paint finishes and colours.

The Abtech BPG range of hazardous area enclosures includes 17 sizes manufactured in glass reinforced polyester (GRP). Polyester is highly resistant to contamination from oils, fats, aliphatic and aromatic carbohydrates, bacteria and enzymes. The BPG range of hazardous area enclosures is also suitable for LSOH (low smoke zero halogen) applications. Polyester provides excellent mechanical strength and life expectancy for superior junction box performance.

When fitted with ceramic terminals, the BPG junction box meets the requirements of IEC 331 (750°C for 3 hours) and also BS6387/1983 (950°C for 3 hours - flame only). Due to the BPG hazardous area enclosure's labyrinth seal system, where the seal is protected from external forces, the BPG hazardous enclosure has excellent ingress protection qualities - this means that the unit is tested to and passed IP66/67; the BPG hazardous enclosure has also undergone and passed the Shell/ERA deluge test.

The BPG range of hazardous area enclosures and junction boxes are suitable for use in hazardous areas and can be supplied with a number of certificates, specifically ATEX EEx'e' to BS EN 60019 (zone 1 & 2), EEx 'nA' to BS EN60021 (zone 2), and NEMA 4X (CSA, UL & FM Class 1, Div 2).

The ABTECH GRN electrical enclosure has been designed as a cost-effective junction box for use in hazardous areas. There are a number of terminal and entry configurations available, resulting in a highly versatile enclosure box which is suitable for a wide variety of installations. The enclosure is manufactured in a UL approved UV stabilized polycarbonate and is available as a pre-assembled terminal box or as an empty enclosure for OEMs.

GRN junction box is ATEX certified for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas EEx'e' to BS EN 50019:2000 for Zone 1 and Zone 2 applications, BS EN 50281-1 for Zone 21 and Zone 22 applications and EEx'nA' to BS EN 50021 for Zone 2.
