Network Rail Approved Heat Shrink Cable Glands

Heat shrink cable glands or cable entry glands ensure a secure cable support and weatherproof seal on all types of non armoured rail power and signal cables - this includes the glanding of high voltage track feeder cables (25kV-44kV) into switchgear.

The high shrink ratio heat shrink collar enables suitability for a wide range of cable diameters. The cable entry glands provide a flame retarded adhesive lined body along with a male threaded bush to enable glanding to the gland plate. Heat shrink cable glands are complete with brass threaded adaptors, locknuts and fibre washers to suit all power, signalling and switching equipment.

Cables terminated into railway signalling equipment should be protected against the risk of accidental damage caused by external forces pulling at the cable termination connections and ingress of moisture which may result in equipment failure.

Heat shrink cable entry glands provide a watertight, fume-tight seal where low and high boltage power and signal cables enter junction boxes, bulkheads or electrical enclosure equipment.
