Barrier Glands (Explosion Proof) with Global Approvals, Universal Solutions
Explosion proof barrier glands provide a flameproof compound seal, outer sheath seal and universal armour clamp for steel wire armoured (SWA) and galvanised steel braided (GSWB) cable termination. A barrier gland is an Ex d cable gland incorporating a compound filled chamber sealing around the individual cores of the cable to maintain the flameproof integrity of the electrical equipment. A barrier gland must be used where the standard method of cable glanding (elastomeric seals) an Ex cable entry is considered unlikely to maintain the integrity of flameproof electrical equipment and contain an explosion within the electrical enclosures due either to cable construction or degree of explosion risk.
