Scotchcast No. 1471 Resin is an unfilled solvent free two-component polyetherurethane resin for room temperature curing. It is an extremely reliable cable jointing resin incorporated in many of the 3M Scotchcast cable joints which provides good mechanical and electrical properties.

Typical applications : general purpose void filling, supplied with 3M Scotchcast LA, and LB cable joints and encapsulation of low and high cable joints.

Scotchcast No. 4 electrical insulating resin is a two-part epoxy insulating and encapsulating resin. This epoxy resin mixed in its unique container bag generates its own heat to cure. The nature of the viscosity, which first decreases to allow it to flow into crevices and awkward spots and then increase rapidly to cure, makes it ideal for small cable joints.

Typical applications include :  jointing solid dielectric and oil filled cables up to 8 kV and encapsulating high voltage cable joints up to 69kV. No.4  Scotchcast resin is included in the 3M 82 and 90-B1 cable joints.
