Trace Heating
T&D UK provide design and installation services for electric trace heating systems providing frost protection to water, caustic soda and oil line pipework within train wash and maintenance depots throughout Network Rail system.
Rail Heating - Eltherm
In areas with frequent and long frost periods any surface
exposed to open air is likely to be covered by snow and
ice. Ice or snow covered light rail track running surfaces reduce the friction
between the rubber wheels and the track restricting
the mobility of the train. Furthermore, ice covered third rails are
compromising the reliability of train detection systems – a
major rail safety issue. For trouble free and safe train operation
during winter seasons rail heating is recommended
to keep the track surface free of ice and snow.
