Chalmit 216 well glass luminaire is ideal for use where a compact, robust and efficient source of localised hazardous area lighting is needed. Designed for use in Zone 1 and 21 hazardous areas, the Chalmit 216 range accommodates high pressure discharge lamps up to 80W Mercury Vapour, 70W HPS, incandescent lamps up to 200W and compact fluorescent lamps up to 26W.

Chalmit 216 hazardous area wellglass luminaire is made from corrosion resistant aluminium alloy and toughened boro-silicate glass using stainless steel fastenings and has an IP66/67 rating.

The Chalmit 216 luminaire features a large side mounted increased safety terminal chamber eliminating the need for flame-proof cable glands and allowing flush mounting.

Zone 1 Hazardous Area – A potentially explosive atmosphere where a mixture of air and flammable substances in the form of gas, vapor or mist is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally. 10 to 1000 hours/year.
